ST. LOUIS, MO --- For the third time this season, a late goal has been the downfall for the Prairie Stars (2-3, 2-1), as they fell to Missouri St. Louis (4-1, 3-0) by a score of 1-0. The goal was scored in the 76
th minute and was enough to beat the Prairie Stars, who had just one shot on goal the whole night.
After starting 2-0 in GLVC play, UIS met up against UMSL, who was also undefeated in conference play so far. At half, the score remained knotted at zero while the shots were also even at four apiece.
UIS got their first shot on target in the second half at the 53 minute mark, as
Harry Hiscock forced Jack Filla to make a stop. That was the lone look for UIS in the entire game as they only had one other shot and corner the remainder of the game.
Tommy Geile had two saves in goal, one in each half.
Naba Alzhyri put two of the six shots up for UIS while
Kanye Sayon and
Mario Falsone added the other two, outside of Hiscocks.
UIS will head back on the road on Sunday to face Maryville in another conference match. Kick-off is set for 2:30 pm in St. Louis.
