SPRINGFIELD, IL --- The Prairie Stars (4-1, 1-1) were bested for the first time this season, falling 1-0 to the hands of Truman State (3-0-1). Illinois Springfield was unable to get on the board, firing just two shots on the day, none of which were on target.
In the first half, neither team had any great scoring chances, as Truman State outshot UIS just 2-to-1 while
Courtney Johnson was forced to make just one save.
In the second half, UIS put just one shot up while the Bulldogs had four scoring chances. The lone goal was scored in the 81
st minute off a UIS turnover, allowing Delaney Kooken to put in her first goal of the season and give Truman State the one goal advantage.
UIS pulled off back-to-back 1-0 wins coming into the game after starting 4-0 for the first time in program history. The Prairie Stars will continue GLVC play as they travel to UMSL on Friday for a 5 pm kick-off and travel to Maryville on Sunday for a noon kick-off.
