EVANSVILLE, IN --- The Prairie Stars closed out the road portion of their 2016 schedule with a 4-0 loss at Southern Indiana. Illinois Springfield (7-10, 4-10) surrendered two goals in each half to the Screaming Eagles (9-8, 6-8).

The Prairie Stars hung tight in the first half, putting four shots up to Southern Indiana's five but also put three of those four shots on net, putting pressure on the Southern Indiana goalie. The Screaming Eagles got on the board first in the 36^th minute, chipping one over Courtney Johnson's head to take the early lead. Southern Indiana added another in the final two minutes of the half to take a 2-0 lead into the break.

A goal in the 55^th minute gave USI a 3-0 lead in which they added another goal in the final 11 seconds to push the final score to 4-0. UIS had two shots in the second half, though neither were on net.

Madisyn Coudriet, Regina Bolin, and Maggie Juhlin each had a shot on goal in the loss while Johnson recorded four saves in goal.

With the loss, the Prairie Stars fell to 14^th in the GLVC and will play their final game of the season against McKendree on Wednesday night at home. Kickoff is set for 5:00 pm.
