Macy Martin notched her fifth goal of the season, but it wasn't enough as Illinois Springfield (6-5, 3-5) fell to the Lewis Flyers (5-5-1, 3-4-1) by a score of 3-1 to close out the weekend. This was the first game all season the Prairie Stars surrendered more than two goals and just the second time surrendering more than one in a game.
After Lewis took the lead, Martin was issued a penalty kick, which she converted for her team leading fifth goal of the season.
Courtney Johnson made four saves in the game on seven shots on goal from the Flyers while Lewis made three saves on four shots on goal from the Prairie Stars.
Lewis scored twice in the second half, once in the 50
th minute and again in the 83
rd minute to put the match out of reach.
Maggie Juhlin led the offensive attack outside of Martin's goal with three shots while
Madisyn Coudriet and
Jasmine Rea each fired two shots a piece.
After a split on the weekend, the Prairie Stars sit in tenth place in the GLVC but will come home to face Drury and Missouri S&T on Friday and Sunday who sit in 14
th and 13
th in the conference, respectively.
