LIBERTY, MO --- The Prairie Stars began their GLVC road swing with a 2-0 loss at William Jewell, surrendering two second half goals in the defeat.
Courtney Johnson recorded ten saves in net but the Prairie Star offense couldn't generate many chances, falling to the Cardinals.
UIS (7-7, 4-7) is now 1-4 in road contest this year, picking up their lone road win at Wisconsin-Parkside last weekend. William Jewell (3-8-2, 3-7-1) recorded 14 shots in the first half opposed to just five for UIS and continued that trend in the second half, outshooting the Prairie Stars 8-1.
Johnson turned away all seven shots on goal she faced in the first half and then turned three more away in the final 45 minutes.
The Cardinals took the lead in the 53
rd minute and then added on the final goal in the 81
st minute to seal the victory.
Maggie Juhlin was the lone Prairie Star with multiple shots while
Jasmin Lisowski and
Alena Eitenmiller were the lone Stars to put shots on net, recording one each.
UIS will conclude the road trip with a game at Rockhurst on Sunday with game time set for a 12:00 pm kick-off. UIS fell to 10
th in the GLVC with the loss.
