SPRINGFIELD, IL - In the first-ever University of Illinois Springfield cross country meet,
Krissy Finley helped the Prairie Stars to a third-place finish at the UIS First Meet on the campus of UIS.
Finley, a sophomore from Rochester, Ill., finished the 4K with a time of 15:32 to place second. The next Prairie Star to cross the finish line was
Lexi Yoggerst (Riverton, Ill.) with a time of 19:03 for her first collegiate meet to place 10th.
Sophomore Emily Kroculik (Wheaton, Ill.) pushed past a runner from Illinois College to place 15th and finish in 19:45.
Amanda Dickens (Rockford, Ill.) came in at 21:35 with
Madi Shane (St. Joseph, Ill.) shortly behind.
Maddie Logsdon and
Aeriel Storey wrapped up the field for the Prairie Stars.
McKendree won the meet with five girls finishing in the top 10. Illinois College finished just in front of the Prairie Stars as three of its runners crossed in the top 15 spots.
Illinois Springfield now readies for its next meet in St. Louis at the Maryville Six Flags Invitational on September 19.
