Prairie Stars Host Governors State to Close out 2015


SPRINGFIELD, IL --- The University of Illinois Springfield (UIS) will host Governors State as they continue a five game non-conference swing. The Prairie Stars have not played since a December 16th match-up with Division I opponent, Indiana State --- which was an exhibition for the Prairie Stars.

QUICK HITS
  • The Prairie Stars sit at 4-6 overall and 0-2 in the GLVC.
  • UIS holds a 2-1 record at home, last defeating Cumberland 83-63 on December 11th.
  • This is the second to last non-conference game for UIS. They host Robert Morris – Peoria on January 3rd before the full slate of GLVC action.
  • This will be the first ever meeting between the two teams.
  • Jamall Millison currently has 864 career points and sits nine points away from passing Dylan Sparkman for the UIS Division II all-time scoring mark.

  • Jamall Millison and Davi Austin are the top-two scorers for the Prairie Stars with 12.6 and 9.9 points per game, respectively. Austin is shooting 56.5 percent from the field, leading the team with 39 field goals.

A LOOK AT GOVERNORS STATE
  • The Jaguars are 2-15 on the season and have lost four straight games after an 85-65 win over Purdue University – Calumet.
  • The Jaguars are members of the NAIA and compete in the Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.).
