INDIANAPOLIS - After winning the first set 26-24, the University of Illinois Springfield volleyball team dropped the next three sets to Indianapolis Friday night, falling to the Greyhounds 3-1.

UIS Top Performers- Nikki Madoch (Algonquin, Ill.): tied a team-high with 11 kills while hitting .455 for the match. Also added four block assists
- Alyssa Hasler: tied Madoch with 11 kills, Also added four block assists
- Lexi Hall (Champaign, Ill.) and Rachelle Wiegand (Hecker, Ill.): finished with 24 and 22 assists, respectively.
- Kayla Katarzynski: collected a team-high 22 digs
How It Happened- The first set was tight with the Prairie Stars trailing 9-7 early on. UIS opened up a 5-0 run to take a 12-9 lead. The hosts came back to tie the score at 13, 22 and 24. Back-to-back kills from Emma Burkle (Crystal Lake, Ill.) and Nikki Madoch gave the Prairie Stars the first set, 26-24.
- The hosts wasted no time taking the lead in the second set, scoring the first five points. UIndy stretched the lead to as many nine, 14-5, but the Prairie Stars didn't go away, eventually cutting the lead to just three, 23-20. UIndy went on to take the second set, 25-21.
- The Greyhounds opened the third stanza on a 9-3 run and used that momentum to win the final two sets, 25-19 and 25-17.
