QUINCY, IL - Junior
Alejandro Inostroza (Santiago, Chile) scored his first-career goal for the Prairie Stars but the Quincy Hawks defeated the University of Illinois Springfield men's soccer team, 2-1, Sunday afternoon at Legends Stadium.

UIS Top Performers- Alejandro Inostroza: scored in the 58th minute on a penalty kick to pull the Prairie Stars back within one goal; took a team-high three shots.
- Sophomore Tommy Geile (O'Fallon, Mo.): stopped nine shots on the afternoon including seven in the second half.
How It Happened- Quincy opened the scoring just two minute and nine seconds into the game when Taylor Reis fired a shot from close range for his ninth goal of the season.
- After the goal, both teams took shots but failed to take advantage of any scoring opportunities. UIS drew Quincy offsides three times in the first period.
- In the second half, Quincy grabbed an insurance goal just minutes into the period. After Tommy Geile made the initial save, Quincy's Artan Emini picked up the rebound and fired home his sixth of the season to make the score 2-0.
- The Prairie Stars nearly found the breakthrough literally seconds after the goal but Dylan Stockman's shot was saved by the Quincy goalkeeper.
- In the 58th minute, a Quincy foul gave the Prairie Stars a penalty kick, which Alejandro Inostroza tucked home to cut the deficit in half. It was his first-career goal at UIS.
- Both teams created chances down the stretch and both keepers were kept busy in the final half hour. Inostroza fired another shot on frame in the 73rd minute and freshman Grant Bauer's chance in the 79th minute was also saved as the Prairie Stars couldn't find the equalizing goal.
