KIRKSVILLE, MO - Three first-half goals by Truman State secured the victory for the hosts against the University of Illinois Springfield women's soccer team Friday afternoon at Bulldog Soccer Park.

UIS Top Performers- Senior Paige Polonus (Plainfield, Ill.): stopped six shots in the game to bring her league-leading total to 96.
- Freshman Karisa Rogers (St. Charles, Mo.): took one of the two shots on-goal for the Prairie Stars
- Senior Eileen Kenny (Tinley Park, Ill.): took one of the two shots on-goal for UIS
How It Happened- Truman State came into Friday's game in second place in the Great Lakes Valley Conference standings and the hosts came after the Prairie Stars early and often.
- Paige Polonus made her first save of the afternoon in the 7th minute. Six and-a-half minutes later the Bulldogs got on the board when a cross was deflected by Polonus to the Bulldogs' Allison Lockett who tucked it home for the goal.
- The Prairie Stars' first shot of the game came in the 26th minute on a free kick after a Truman foul. Junior Nikki Auble's (Plainfield, Ill.) attempt sailed high.
- UIS stayed on the attack though and forced Truman's Katie Mattingly to make her save of the match in the 29th minute on a shot from Eileen Kenny.
- The Bulldogs eventually got a pair of insurance goals in the 31st and 39th minutes to take a 3-0 lead into halftime.
- The Prairie Stars' Karisa Rogers nearly put the visitors ahead in the 52nd minute but her shot was stopped by Mattingly.
- In the 56th minute, Allison Lockett scored her third goal of the game for Truman State on a shot just inside the left post. The hosts hung on to win 4-0.
