SPRINGFIELD, IL -Â The University of Illinois Springfield men's soccer team battled to a scoreless draw with Maryville on a chilly Friday night at Kiwanis Stadium.

UIS Top Performers- Sophomore Tommy Geile (O'Fallon, Mo.): made four saves including three in the second half. Recorded his second shutout of the season.
- Junior Dylan Stockman (Peoria, Ill.): made several dangerous runs down the left side, finished with two shots and one shot on-goal
- Junior Mac Leverenz (Danville, Ill.): helped the Prairie Stars connect in the middle of the field, nearly scored in 19th minue but his effort was pushed over the bar by the Saint's goalkeeper.
How It Happened- Neither team had any great chances to score in the first half. UIS' Tommy Geile made one save in the 18th minute. Just a minute later, Mac Leverenz collected the ball after a corner kick and sent his shot towards the top of the net but Maryville's Christian Kjaersgaard pushed it over the goal.
- Just minutes later Dylan Stockman created a chance to score. He beat the right back down the left side, turned at the end line and shot but his effort was saved by the Saints.
- Neither team took a shot in the final 22 minutes of the first half.
- Geile was called into action for the Prairie Stars in the second period, stopping three shots including a brilliant save in the 88th minute to deny Erik Schafer.
- In the overtime periods, neither team could create and dangerous chances. In the second extra period, the Prairie Stars' Jeremy Hardcastle was shown his second yellow card of the game, forcing the Prairie Stars to play the final minutes a man down.
