#14 - Women's Basketball Scoring RecordsThe UIS women's basketball program closes the book on 2014 with its first two players reaching the 1,000 point-milestone as multiple scoring records were matched and broken.
On January 16, 2014, former guard
Alyssa Palmer scored 19 points to become the second player to reach 1,000 points. Earlier in the season,
Megan Bergerud became the first player to score 1,000 points with a 23-point effort against Oakland City. She continued her strong season, which concluded with one of the most dominant performances in UIS women's basketball history.
In her final game as a Prairie Star on February 27, she scored a then-record 31 points against the McKendree Bearcats to conclude her career as the program's all-time leading scorer.
This season, Bergerud's record was broken on December 10, 2014 by junior guard
Meredith Marti (Indianapolis, Ind.). Against Robert Morris Peoria, Meredith scored 36 points on 12-of-20 shooting from the field. All 12 of her makes came from three-point land, also a school record.
