UIS Claims Historic Win Against Robert Morris Peoria

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - The University of Illinois Springfield women's basketball broke six school records in a 104-17 win against Robert Morris Peoria Wednesday night at the Recreation and Athletic Center.

The Prairie Stars set new school records for most points in a single game (104), most points by an individual player (36), most three-point attempts and makes by an individual (12-for-19), most team three-point makes (17) and most team assists in a game (31).

Junior guard Meredith Marti (Indianpolis, Ind.) led the way for UIS with a record 36 points on 12-of-20 shooting from the field. All 12 of her field goals came from behind the arc, also a school record. The team led the visiting Eagles bya score of 47-5 at halftime. With 57 points in the second half, it was the first time that the Prairie Stars have ever scored more than 100 points in a game.

Senior Courtney Knuckles also recorded career numbers, scoring 24 points on 10-of 14 shooting. All ten UIS players scored at least two points and seven of the ten grabbed at least six rebounds.

The Prairie Stars also tied the school record for most made field goals in a game with 40.

UIS is now 4-3 and rides a three-game winning streak into Saturday's matchup with Lincoln University.
