Eli Nehrt joined the University of Illinois Springfield Athletics staff in September 2025 as an extra help Athletics Operations assistant. In this role, he supports facility management, game-day operations, and staff coordination, helping ensure safe, organized, and high-quality experiences for student-athletes, coaches, and fans.
Nehrt brings extensive experience in collegiate and summer league athletics. Most recently, he served as press box manager for the Springfield Lucky Horseshoes, overseeing media operations, scoring, broadcast equipment, and fan engagement for major events including the Prospect League All-Star Game. He also gained baseball operations experience as an intern and MLB scout liaison with the Chatham Anglers of the Cape Cod Baseball League, leveraging analytics and scouting data to support player evaluation and development.
Prior to his professional experience, Nehrt worked in campus recreation at the University of Louisville, where he supervised intramural sports, trained and evaluated officials, and earned recognition as “Newcomer of the Year” for leadership and contributions to event success.
A graduate of the University of Louisville with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Administration, Nehrt also holds certifications from USA Baseball and has been involved in coaching, community programs, and collegiate sports organizations.
