Abby Kain is in her fourth year as an assistant athletic trainer at the University of Illinois Springfield for the 2025-26 school year. She provides athletic training services for the volleyball, women’s basketball, and cross country/track and field programs.
Kain earned a master’s degree in athletic training from Minnesota State University, Mankato in 2022. She previously attended the University of Northern Colorado, where she was a member of the women’s basketball team and completed a bachelor’s degree in sport and exercise science with a minor in nutrition in 2020. Kain appeared in 110 career games and was a four-time Big Sky All-Academic Team selection.
A BOC-certified athletic trainer since 2022, Kain is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and the Illinois Athletic Trainers Association.
