As a Junior (2012)
Saw time in all 30 matches while playing in 107 sets ... was first on the team in kills with 277 and digs with 239 ... totaled 10 or more kills in 13 contests ... had  six double-doubles ... recorded 17 service aces, which ranked second on the team ... recorded 28 total blocks including six solo stops ... opened the season with 10 kills at Pittsburgh State (Aug. 31) ... tallied two aces against Winona State (Sept. 7) ... recorded 15 kills and 11 digs in the win at Maryville (Sept. 15) ... had .615 hitting percentage against Eureka (Oct. 3) ... also had three aces and three block assists in the victory ... had a season-high 17 kills and 17 digs at Kentucky Wesleyan (Oct. 6) ... had a double-double versus Michigan Tech (Oct. 13) at the GLVC/GLIAC Crossover with 12 kills and 14 digs, while recording two aces ... followed that game up with three straight double-doubles against Lake Superior State (Oct. 13), Lindenwood-Belleville (Oct. 16) and Illinois Tech (Oct. 18) when the Prairie Stars went on a five-game winning streak ... also had a double-double versus GLVC foe McKendree (Oct. 20) with 11 kills and 11 digs ... recorded 15 kills and two aces in the victory against Maryville (Nov. 2) ... named to the GLVC Academic All-Conference list.

As a Sophomore (2011)
Played in 29 matches and 91 sets … was second on the team with 219 kills … had 10 or more kills 11 times … set a career-high with 18 kills vs. Pittsburg State (Sep. 10) … had three double-doubles … had 12 digs at Rockhurst (Sep. 23) … had three service aces against Quincy (Oct. 25) …14 total service aces was good for third on the squad… recorded 13 block assists … 241.5 points was third on the team … selected to the academic All-Great Lakes Valley Conference team … also was named to the UIS Chancellor’s Academic Honor Roll for the fall semester and to the UIS Coach’s Academic Honor Roll for the spring semester … made the Dean’s List for the fall semester.

As a Freshman (2010)
Saw action in all 30 contests and played 86 sets as a freshman … had five matches with double digit kills including a season-high 15 coming against Christian Brothers … also scored 15.5 points in the Christian Brothers match … had a season-best eight digs at Missouri S&T … knocked back three block assists three time s… was named to the UIS Athletic Director’s Academic Honor Roll for both semesters.

High School
Named FPN Sportswoman of the Year as a senior at Coal City … won the team’s High Point Award for both junior and senior seasons… three-time member of the Manteno All-Tournament Team … named the Best Attacker at the NJC Tournament … earned the Most Outstanding Player Award at the KCC Showcase … was also an Mendota All-Tournament selection … three-time I-8 All-Academic team… two-time All-Interstate Eight Conference pick … was also an all-area selection by the Kankakee Daily Journal, Joliet Herald News and the Morris Daily Herald … was the 2009 Sportswoman of the Year by the Free Press Newspapers … led team in kills as a junior and senior and led in digs as a senior leading team to back-to-back conference titles ... played club ball with Sports Performance and the UNO club ... named the NJC Tournament's best attack for UNO 18 Elite.

Personal
Born June 19, 1992 ... daughter of Walt and Lynne Mahaffay… has one sister, Kayla ... majoring in social work with a mino in elementary education.

Why I Chose UIS
I chose Illinois Springfield because it was a smaller school yet big enough that it had everything I needed. It was close enough to home that I could go home if I needed yet far enough that I could get the full on college experience. I also chose Illinois Springfield because it was Division II so there was a good balance between sports and academics and down time.
