Kamille Jones is in her fourth season as the head coach of the University of Illinois Springfield volleyball program in 2024.
In her first season in 2021, Jones led a remarkable turnaround. She took a team that went 3-15 in GLVC play the previous season, and improved that mark to 10-8. The Prairie Stars jumped from 14
th to seventh in the GLVC standings and advanced to the GLVC Tournament.
Jones helped UIS to be one of the top blocking teams in the GLVC, averaging over two blocks a game. The Prairie Stars also averaged 16 digs a game, and their opponents hitting average dropped .035 points. Jones coached one all-conference player in Brianna Bush.
Off the court, UIS had 11 players earn GLVC Academic All-Conference honors. The team also earned the GLVC Team Academic All-Conference award, and it was ranked in the top-20 percent of all NCAA Division II programs.
Prior to coming to UIS, Jones was an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at South Florida for the 2020 season. She was part of a coaching staff that inherited a program that was 7-23 overall in 2019, and improved it to 6-8 in the shortened 2020 campaign. The 2020 team went 3-5 in conference matches, an improvement from 1-15 the previous year. One of her recruits, Marta Cvitkovic, earned first-team all-conference honors in the American Athletic Conference.
Jones was the interim head coach at NCAA Division I Gardner-Webb University in 2019. After being handed the reins just a month before the season. The team showed improvement throughout the season, especially on the offense end where it hit .185 for the final six games, well above its previous mark for the year.
Also in 2019, Jones was an assistant coach to Mick Haley on a European Volleyball tour. She helped coached United States collegiate players in games in Slovenia, Croatia, and Italy.
Jones began her coaching career at NCAA Division II West Texas A&M where she was a graduate assistant coach in 2018. She helped the program go 19-13 that season and advance to the conference tournament semifinals.
Jones ended her playing career at West Texas A&M in 2017. She was an all-conference selection for the 23-win team that advanced to the NCAA South Central Regional Championship match. She averaged 2.47 kills a set, and had 249 total kills.
Her collegiate playing career started at NCAA Division I Murray State University. In three seasons, she had 285 kills, 66 digs, and 53 blocks. Jones was a part of a program that won three Ohio Valley Conference Championships, and advanced to two NCAA National Tournaments.
Jones is originally from Fort Worth, Texas. She earned her undergraduate degree in business from Murray State in 2017, and earned her MBA from West Texas A&M in 2019.
