Saw action in 28 contests and 101 sets ... ranked second on the team with 59 assists and second in aces with 17 ...tallied 175 digs ... five matches with over 10 digs ... season-high of 17 digs agaisnt Kentucky Wesleyan (Sept. 7) ... recored one kill against Alderson-Broaddus (Sept. 6) ... season-high of 8 assists agaisnt Lindenwood (Oct. 15) ... had a season-high of three aces versus Lake Erie (Oct. 25) and versus Michigan Tech (Oct. 26) ... names to UIS Athletic Director's Academic Honor Roll.

As a Junior (2012)
Played in 23 contests and 75 sets including a start in two matches ... totaled 212 digs and had double-digit dig totals in 10 games ... had 18 service aces ... recroded 21 assists ... opened the season with four assists at Pittsburg State (Aug. 31) ... had 12 digs against Rockhurst (Sept. 29) ... tallied two aces versus Eureka (Oct. 3) ... posted a season-high 20 digs at Kentucky Wesleyan (Oct. 6) ... followed with 16 digs at Southern Indiana (Oct. 7) ... had a string of eight straight games with double-figure digs ... during that stretch also had three assists and four aves against Lake Superior State (Oct. 13) ... tallied 17 digs against McKendree (Oct. 20) to close out the eight-game streak ... recorded a season-high five assists along with two aces and 16 digs at Rockhurst (Oct. 26).

As a Sophomore (2011)
Saw action in 25 contests and 81 sets … recorded double figure digs six times and set a career-high with 25 against William Jewell (Oct. 21) … 187 digs was third on the squad … tallied four service aces vs. Findlay (Oct. 14) … was second on the team in service aces with 15… had two assists against Missouri Baptist (Nov. 2) and at Maryville (Nov. 5) ... was named to the UIS Athletic Director’s Academic Honor Roll for the fall semester and to the UIS Coach’s Academic Honor Roll for the spring semester.

As a Freshman (2010)
Played in 80 sets and saw action in all 30 matches as a freshman … had six matches with double digit digs, including a season-high 16 at Christian Brothers … had two service aces four times … was named to the UIS Athletic Director’s Academic Honor Roll for both semesters.

High School
Named to the all-area team at South … three-year starter … first team all-conference pick and set the school record for career digs … won league’s Player of the Week as a senio r… led the district and was second in the conference in digs … holds school record for career digs and was a two-time winner of the team’s Best Defender Award … was also twice named the Plainfield Sun News all-area team ... also played for Ultimate Volleyball Club.

Born May 6, 1992 ... daughter of Tony and Lucy Sanchez ... has one brother, Omar ... business management major.

Why I Chose UIS
I loved the atmosphere here in Springfield. It's a small school where we know each other well enough inside the classroom as well as outside of the classroom.
