Edward Rose is in his second season as an assistant coach for the University of Illinois Springfield women’s soccer team in 2022.

In his first season on the women's coaching staff, he helped the squad earn its second-best winning percentage in program history. The UIS defense allowed just 18 goals in 16 games, and never allowed more than two in a contest.

In Spring 2021, Rose was an assistant for the UIS men’s soccer program. He helped the team go 4-4-3 on the season, and advance to the GLVC Tournament. The UIS defense had a 0.59 GAA on the season, tenth-best in NCAA Division II. It recorded five shutouts and allowed just 4.7 shots on goal a game.
 
Rose was a four-year player for the Prairie Stars from 2016-19. In that span, he helped UIS go 33-31-6, and advanced to the GLVC Tournament three times.

Rose appeared in 57 games, and during the team’s NCAA era, he ranks fifth with 4,551 career minutes and with 50 career starts. He was a key defender who helped UIS have 20 shutouts. He also recorded two goals, two assists, six points, and one game-winning goal.
