Michael Leotta enters his third year as assistant coach for the University of Illinois Springfield's golf programs. Leotta is currently the head assistant golf professional at the Illini Country Club where he oversees golf operations and player development.

Leotta is a Class A PGA member with certifications in golf operations and player development. At the Illini Country Club, he was the 1st Assistant Golf Professional, and served as chairman for their junior golf program of 125 kids. He coordinated, budgeted, and promoted a tournament schedule of over 50 events annually. He also oversaw the lesson program for all age and skill levels, and introduced the use of video equipment for a better "on course" instruction increasing his lesson revenue every year since 2006.

Prior to his work at ICC, Leotta was the assistant golf professional for the Jacksonville Country Club. He assisted in the annual buying plans for the pro shop, and coordinated the bag room operations and tournament schedule.

Leotta earned his bachelors degree from Illinois State University in 2003, majoring in history and minoring in political science. He resdies in Springfield with his wife Megan and their two year old daughter Ellery.
