Lexi Petersen is in her second season as an assistant coach for the UIS golf program.
 
In her first season in the shortened 2019-20 season, Petersen helped the women’s team win the 2019 Dan Salisbury Memorial, and had two other top-10 finishes on the year. She helped Paula Valdivia earn all-GLVC honors, and became the sixth player in program history with a scoring average under 79.
 
Petersen competed for the University of South Dakota from 2015-19. She played in 41 out of a possible 43 events in her career. Over her final two seasons, she averaged 77.4 strokes per round, and had seven top-10 showings.
 
Petersen competed for Spoon River Valley High School in Illinois, and finished seventh as a senior at the Illinois State Tournament. She was a four-time all-conference performer and won two conference championship titles.
