Destiny Ramsey is in her first season on the University of Illinois Springfield women’s basketball staff. She returns to Springfield after being a player for the Prairie Stars for two seasons.
 
Ramsey assisted with the women’s basketball program at Illinois Central College from 2018-20. In that time, the Cougars went 57-10, advanced to two regional championship games, and made the national tournament in 2019. Among her duties at Illinois Central was working with the post players.
 
Ramsey was a player on the UIS women’s basketball program from 2016-18. She earned all-GLVC honors in both of her seasons, and is one of two Prairie Stars all-time to earn all-GLVC honors twice in a career.
 
Ramsey averaged 11.8 points and 6.5 rebounds a game at UIS. In 48 games, she collected 568 points, 314 rebounds, 74 assists, 60 blocks, and 71 steals. Ramsey was on the most successful two seasons for UIS women’s basketball at the NCAA level, including being a team captain when the program won a record 13 games in 2017-18.
 
Prior to playing at UIS, Ramsey was a two-time All-American at Illinois Central from 2014-16. She averaged 11.7 points and 6.6 rebounds a game for the Cougars. In 2015-16, she averaged 12.1 points and 6.2 rebounds, and led Illinois Central to the championship game at the NJCAA Division II National Tournament.
 
Ramsey was a four-year player for University High School in Normal, Ill. She was a two-time all-conference player, and led the team to a regional title during her senior season.
