Madison Murphy joins the UIS softball staff under head coach Shannon Nicholson as a volunteer assistant coach.

Murphy was a player at Northern Illinois and transferred from Lakeland College. She owned the single-season batting average and home run records for Lakeland.

Murphy was a three-year varsity letter winner at Sacred Heart Griffin HS and named to consecutive all-conference teams to close her prep career. She earned back-to-back all-state second team honors in her junior and senior seasons. Murphy holds the school career home run record (24)
