University of Illinois Springfield Athletics

The dean of the UIS coaching staff, Manny Velasco enters his 30th season at Illinois Springfield and his 44th year in the sport with a tradition of winning tennis. This will be the eighth year that Velasco will coach both the men's and the women's Prairie Stars tennis teams.

Velasco has been married to Blanca Maria for 54 years and they have two kids, three grand children and one great grand son.
