Kaitlin Skeate joined the llinois Springfield cross country and track and field coaching staff as an assistant coach beginning with the 2025-26 season.

A recent graduate of Illinois State University, Skeate brings a strong academic and athletic background to the Prairie Stars. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education with a concentration in kinesiology studies and a minor in athletic coaching. During her time at ISU, she was a Dean's List student and named to the AFNI Honor Roll. Skeate was also a member of the Redbirds’ cross country and track and field teams.

Her passion for the sport and leadership potential stood out to Head Coach Emmons King, who expressed his enthusiasm for mentoring Skeate in her coaching journey. "Her passion and enthusiasm about our sport is contagious," King said. "Kaitlin's experience as an athlete at Illinois State University is going to help take our program to the next level."

In addition to her competitive experience, Skeate served as a special events intern for Illinois State Athletics, where she supported donor hospitality and event logistics. She also contributed to athlete development as a counselor at the All-American Cross Country Camp in Asheville, North Carolina, focusing on running mechanics, mental preparation, and endurance training.
