Shelly Camburn is the official therapy dog of the UIS Athletic Department. A six-year-old mini-Goldendoodle with a gentle heart and calming presence, Shelly is certified through Pet Partners to provide emotional support and promote well-being through the human-animal bond. Whether she’s relaxing in the athletic training room or visiting a team practice, Shelly brings comfort to everyone she meets.

Shelly is handled by her owner, Head Athletic Trainer Christopher Camburn, and together they form a registered therapy animal team trained to provide support in a variety of settings. With her friendly demeanor and fluffy charm, Shelly has quickly become a beloved member of the Prairie Stars family, offering encouragement to student-athletes as they recover from injuries, navigate tough days, or simply need a moment of joy.
