    Assistant Baseball Coach
Sam Boisner begins his second season with the UIS Baseball program under the direction of head coach Chris Ramirez.

His primary duties will include recruiting, managing the UIS baseball camps and working with hitters and catchers.

Before coming to UIS, Boisner served as a volunteer assistant coach at St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, Minn. He also coached the St. Michael American Legion team and helped developed seven players who went on to play college ball, including three Division I NLI signees.

As a player, Boisner attended Southeastern Iowa Community College before transferring to St. Cloud State. While at Southeastern, he was a part of teams that won a combined 80 games and finished as runners up in the ICCAC regional twice. After transferring to St. Cloud State, he helped the Huskies to two regular season conference titles, a NSIC tournament championship and a pair of second place finishes at the NCAA Central Regional/

A native of Albertville, Minn., Boisner earned his bachelor's degree in Health and Physical Education from St. Cloud State University.
