Jason LaRocque begins his first year as the assistant volunteer pitching coach for the Illinois Springfield baseball program. LaRocque most recently served as an assistant coach for Austin College in Sherman, Texas.
As head assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the Roos, LaRocque's spent most of his time on the recuriting trail and with the pitching staff. He served as the teams third base coach and oversaw the team's catchers.
While at Menlo College in Atherton, Calif., LaRocque worked as a pitching and catching coach. Prior to Menlo, he was a student assistant at Texas A&M Corpus Chrisiti and was part of the biggest win in Islander baseball history, knocking off the fifth ranked Texas Longhorns and holding the longest winning streak in the nation.
LaRocque started his collegiate career at Briar Cliff University before transferring to Texas A&M Corpus Christi to earn his bachelor's degree in kinesology.

"Coach LaRocque is my utility guy as a coach because he has the knowledge and ability to coach every position on the field," said Ramirez. "Jason also has valuable recruiting experience on the west coast and down south and will definitely contribute to our growth as a program."
