Pauly is in his third season as an assistant coach on the University of Illinois Springfield baseball team in 2023.

Pauly was a member of the 2022 team which was the best in program history. The Prairie Stars won their first GLVC Championship Tournament, and captured NCAA Regional and NCAA Super Regional titles. UIS advanced to the NCAA Division II National Championship Tournament for the first time.

UIS ranked sixth in NCAA Division II with 10.0 runs per game, and was also top-10 offensively in walks, doubles, hits, home runs, on-base percentage, and slugging percentage. On the mound, UIS had the best ERA in the GLVC and 34
th-best in NCAA Division II. The Prairie Stars were fourth nationally in strikeouts per nine innings.

Pauly helped coach three All-American, seven all-region performers, and 10 all-conference honorees during the 2022 campaign.

In his first season in 2021, UIS went 37-8 on the year, won a
GLVC Division Championship, reached the
GLVC Tournament Championship game, and was the top seed in the NCAA Midwest Regional. UIS ranked in the top-15 nationally in both scoring (10.1 runs per game) and ERA (3.83).

Pauly was a member of the Morehead State University baseball team from 2018-2019. He was a two-time first-team
All-OVC selection. As a senior, he led the team to a program-record 40 wins.
Pauly had a conference-best 92 hits and 64 RBI that year. He hit .348 with 12 homers, 13 doubles, 12 stolen bases, and 48 runs. As a junior,
Pauly batted .339 with 58 runs, 53 RBI, 78 hits, 17 doubles, and eight home runs. The 2018 team won the 2018 OVC Championship, and advanced to a NCAA Regional Tournament.

Pauly played at Triton College in 2016 and 2017. He was an all-regional pitcher for Triton. He is originally from
Glenville, Ill., and went to
Glenbrook South High School. He was a team MVP and all-conference player in high school.

Pauly graduated from Morehead State in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
