Adam Unes enters his first season on staff with the University of Illinois Springfield baseball program after a successful four-year career with the Prairie Stars. He will serve as an Assistant Coach and Strength and Conditioning Coordinator while also working towards his Master’s Degree in Business Administration.


As a player and four-year team captain, Unes has been a member of the baseball program since its inception in 2010. In his senior season, he was named to the GLVC All-Conference team and helped lead the Prairie Stars to a school record 28 wins, as well as their first-ever berth in the conference tournament. Unes also holds numerous records for the program including: Hits (154), Runs (100), RBI (87), Home Runs (13), Walks (70), Games Played (171) and more.

Besides his work on the field, Unes also excelled in the classroom earning Academic All-GLVC honors in each of his four seasons as a student athlete while graduating as a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma honor society.

Prior to UIS, Unes was a two-sport athlete at Brimfield High School (Ill.) where he earned IBCA All-State honors and was a part of a baseball program that compiled over 100 wins during his four-year career. 

Adam’s parents are Bob and Helen Unes of Brimfield, Ill. He has a younger sister, Marissa (11) and a younger brother, Nick, who plays baseball at Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
