The University of Illinois Springfield Athletics Department, in accordance with University of Illinois Springfield and Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) COVID regulations, has announced that they will allow limited spectators for the outdoor sports of soccer, baseball, and softball. Each student-athlete in those sports will be allowed
four guests for each of their home games (student-athletes must reserve those spots 48 hours in advance). An additional 50 spots for each game will be made available for UIS students, faculty, and staff (only available for UIS community members that are regularly on campus and tested weekly - must be reserved 48 hours in advance through UIS Connection.).
If there are open UIS community spots left, they will be made available on game days on a first-come, first-served basis. The number of available walk ups will be announced on game day.
For the sport of tennis, a total of 50 spectators will be allowed. Each student-athlete will be allowed two guests for each of their home games (student-athletes must reserve those spots 48 hours in advance. Any additional spots will then be made available for UIS students, faculty, and staff (only available for UIS community members that are regularly on campus and tested weekly - must be reserved through UIS Connection.)
Some of the protocols for the spectators include:
- Face coverings must be worn at all times
- Temperature and symptom screening prior to entry
- No bleacher seating for non-campus guests (guests must bring lawn chairs to sit on)
- No visiting fans
- 2 guests per pod
- Pods physically distanced, 6 feet between each pod
- No concessions, tickets
- No direct contact with student-athletes, coaches, officials, staff
