UIS Athletics placed 161 student-athletes on the Division 2 Athletics Directors Association (D2 ADA) Academic Achievement Team, recognizing Prairie Stars who achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or higher in 2025-26.

The department's honorees represented all 17 NCAA sports at UIS, highlighting the academic success of Prairie Stars across the department.

Baseball led UIS with 29 honorees, followed by women's soccer with 18 and men's soccer with 17. Softball had 14 honorees, while women's track and field had 13 and women's cross country had 11.

The D2 ADA Academic Achievement Team recognizes NCAA Division II student-athletes who have maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher. Student-athletes must have completed at least two years of college and been an active member of an intercollegiate team during the most recent season.

The recognition adds to a strong year of academic achievement for UIS Athletics. The Prairie Stars recorded a department-record 3.62 cumulative GPA during the spring semester, with 50 student-athletes earning perfect 4.0 GPAs and 14 of 17 teams posting team GPAs above 3.60.
