UIS Athletics is proud to announce that 198 of its student-athletes have combined for a total of 227 Academic All-Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) awards for the 2025-26 academic year. This achievement underscores the dedication and hard work of UIS athletes both on the field and in the classroom, as the award recognizes active student-athletes who maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher across two semesters. The recognition is part of the GLVC Academic Awards Week.

It marks the second straight year the Prairie Stars have earned more than 200 Academic All-GLVC awards, accounting for the only two such seasons in the department's GLVC history.

The awards were distributed among every UIS program. Breakdown of awards by sport includes: Baseball (36), Men's Basketball (7), Women's Basketball (10), Men's Cross Country (14), Women's Cross Country (13), Men's Golf (10), Women's Golf (6), Men's Soccer (25), Women's Soccer (27), Softball (20), Men's Tennis (9), Women's Tennis (6), Men's Track & Field (14), Women's Track & Field (17), and Volleyball (13).

Three UIS teams achieved a 100% rate of athletes earning the honor; women's tennis, men's tennis, women's golf.

An exceptional aspect of this year's awards is the achievement of 19 student-athletes who have received this honor for at least four years.
