The No. 25-ranked UIS baseball team (18-7, 7-1) dominated Drury (13-12, 4-4) with a decisive 23-1 victory on Sunday at the UIS Baseball Field, clinching the conference series. The home team amassed 23 hits, including three home runs, while holding Drury to just four hits. The game was run-ruled in seven innings due to the overwhelming score difference.

Mark DeCicco came out strong, striking out two in the first inning, allowing one run.
In the bottom of the first,
Corey Boyette hit a two-run homer, bringing home
Tommy Atkinson, who had been hit by a pitch.
Noah Caceres followed with another two-run homer, scoring
Kaden Griffitts for a 4-1 lead.
The second inning saw UIS extend its lead significantly with an explosive offensive display. Boyette's RBI single, coupled with Caceres's three-run homer, highlighted an 11-run inning. UIS ended the inning ahead 15-1.
In the fourth inning,
Johnny Wendling's two-RBI double contributed to a five-run burst, pushing the lead to 20-1.
UIS added three more runs in the sixth, as
Parker Heistand and
Dominic Terrell each recorded RBI singles.
Jaden Mathon closed it out, striking out two in the seventh.
