The Prairie Stars have compiled a 15-6 overall record and are undefeated in conference play at 4-0 through one weekend, showing consistency on both sides of the ball. UIS is also receiving votes in the ABCA poll.

In the competitive Midwest region, UIS sits third behind Wayne State (16-2) and Grand Valley State (16-4). Other regional contendors include Quincy, Drury, Rockhurst, and Ashland, making this weekend's matchup with Drury particularly significant. Drury, currently fifth in the Midwest rankings, will test the Prairie Stars' early-season momentum as conference play heats up.
