The Illinois Springfield men's tennis team also opens its home schedule Saturday at 10 a.m., hosting Michigan Tech in a simultaneous matchup with the women's team. The Prairie Stars' men's and women's programs will share the courts at home seven times this season.

UIS enters the match with momentum after a 4-3 road victory at Thomas More. The Prairie Stars dropped the doubles point but rallied with four singles wins to claim the overall match.
Luke Pennington and
Miran Todorovic earned a 7-5 win at No. 2 doubles, but Thomas More took the other two positions to secure the early advantage.
In singles, UIS responded with a dominant showing.
Pablo Herrera won 6-3, 6-0,
Lin En Tan added a 6-2, 6-3 victory, and Pennington stayed undefeated with a 6-4, 6-4 win. Todorovic secured the match with a 6-3, 6-4 result.
Michigan Tech (1-2)
Michigan Tech enters Saturday with a 1-2 record, opening the year with a 7-0 win before suffering consecutive road losses. The Huskies are led at the top of the lineup by No. 1 singles player Landon Coates.
