The Illinois Springfield volleyball team returns to TRAC for a pair of home matches during Homecoming week, hosting Drury on Friday at 6 p.m. and Southwest Baptist on Saturday at 2 p.m.
Friday night's match against the Drury Panthers will feature DJ TAT, a UIS alumnus known for his work at Big Ten Conference events and Illinois football and basketball games. The evening will also include giveaways for Prairie Stars fans, including T-shirts for UIS students.
Saturday's match against the Southwest Baptist Bearcats serves as the volleyball highlight of Homecoming week. Doors open at 1 p.m. for the Route 66 Rally Lounge, a $15-per-person hospitality experience featuring themed food and a unique view of the match. The match follows the UIS Athletics Hall of Fame luncheon earlier in the day.
UIS enters the weekend ranked 13th in the GLVC standings with a 4-12 overall record and a 1-5 mark in conference play. Drury sits fifth at 12-4 overall and 3-2 in the GLVC, while Southwest Baptist is eighth at 10-6 overall and 2-3 in conference play.
The Prairie Stars are looking to bounce back after dropping 3-0 decisions at Rockhurst and William Jewell last weekend. In their most recent home weekend, UIS earned a 3-0 victory over McKendree in its home opener.

Madi Siefken continues to facilitate the UIS offense, averaging 6.74 assists per set, the seventh-best mark in the GLVC.
Emma Frazier is also among the conference's top 10 in digs, averaging 3.55 per set with 195 total assists entering the weekend.
Drury enters the weekend following a 3-0 win over Southwest Baptist last Wednesday. The Panthers have had more than a week between matches after the victory. Skylar Hilton leads the team with 146 kills and averages 2.75 kills per set, while Chaney Barth has recorded 135 kills at 2.60 per set. Abby Renshaw adds 138 kills and averages 2.56 per set. Defensively, Jacy Bray leads the team with 3.41 digs per set.
Southwest Baptist fell to Drury 3-0 in its most recent GLVC match but had won two of its previous three conference contests. The Bearcats most recently swept Mission University in a non-conference match Tuesday. Gabriela Dupree leads the offense with 212 kills, averaging 3.59 per set, while Julia Marinesi adds 118 kills at 2.57 per set. Allie Hawk directs the offense with 6.00 assists per set and has recorded 354 assists. Kailey Sexton leads the team at the net with 1.11 blocks per set, while Melissa Patel averages 3.38 digs per set defensively.
Following the Homecoming weekend, UIS will travel to Hammond, Ind., for the Midwest Regional Crossover. The tournament field is expected to be announced during the week of the competition.
