10/1/2026 6:00:00 PM

The Illinois Springfield volleyball team (4-10, 1-3 GLVC) hits the road for its third week of GLVC play, traveling to Rockhurst on Friday at 6 p.m. before facing William Jewell on Saturday at 4 p.m. The Saturday match time is an adjusted start from the originally scheduled 3 p.m. first serve.

The Prairie Stars enter the weekend as one of three teams sitting at 1-3 in conference play, just outside the GLVC's top eight. UIS opened its home slate last week with a 3-0 sweep of McKendree before falling 3-0 to UMSL.

Kendall Johnson had a strong weekend offensively and is now averaging 2.47 kills per set this season. Freshmen Khadijah Blue and Alyssa Gray are also contributing in the attack, while Madi Siefken is averaging 6.90 assists per set. Defensively, Emma Frazier is averaging 3.53 digs per set with a .929 reception percentage.

Rockhurst enters Friday's match with a 9-4 overall record and a 3-0 mark in GLVC play. The Hawks have won eight straight matches, including three sweeps, and most recently earned a 3-1 win at Drury.

Rockhurst has been one of the conference's most efficient offensive teams, hitting .263 as a squad, which ranks second in the GLVC. Ali Olson is hitting .411 on the season with more than 100 kills, while Delaney Hope is hitting .349 and has also surpassed 100 kills.

The Hawks have also received a strong contribution from their setters, Molly Trachta and Kaitlyn Dumpit. Trachta leads the team with 5.85 assists per set, while Dumpit averages 4.78.

Defensively, Abby Boyd leads Rockhurst with 2.50 digs per set and has recorded 130 digs this season.

William Jewell enters the weekend at 1-13 overall and 0-3 in GLVC play. The Cardinals have dropped 11 straight matches but took a set from Rockhurst in their most recent GLVC meeting.

Ashlynn Rowland leads William Jewell from the service line, ranking eighth in the GLVC with 20 aces and 10th with 0.41 aces per set.

UIS will look to build on last week's sweep of McKendree while continuing its push up the GLVC standings.

The Prairie Stars travel to Rockhurst on Friday at 6 p.m. before facing William Jewell Saturday at 4 p.m. Both matches will be available to watch on GLVCSN.
