The Great Lakes Valley Conference announced Tuesday that Illinois Springfield senior
Madelyn Miller-Ross has been named the GLVC/Athletic Solutions Women's Runner of the Week in cross country.
Miller-Ross earned the award following a standout performance at the Lucian Rosa Invitational at Wisconsin-Parkside on Saturday. She finished 11th overall in a field of 207 runners with a 6K time of 21:38.60. She was also the second-fastest finisher from the Midwest Region, crossing the line just behind the top regional competitor. Her effort helped the Prairie Stars place 11th as a team against a deep field that included several nationally ranked Division II programs.
This is the fourth career GLVC Runner of the Week honor for the Moline, Illinois, native and her second of the season.
Miller-Ross and the Prairie Stars return to action Oct. 11 at the Lewis Crossover in Romeoville, Illinois.
