Illinois Springfield volleyball dropped its second straight conference match on Saturday, falling 3-0 to Indianapolis at TRAC. The Greyhounds won by set scores of 25-17, 25-20, 25-19.

The first set saw UIS hang close early, tying the score at 12-12 on a five-point run including string of three kills from
Makenna Cox. UIndy pulled away to take the opener 25-17 by scoring the set's final seven points in a row.
The second set was highlighted by long rallies, with both defenses trading digs before points were finally closed out. After falling behind 9-1, UIS stormed back to trail 12-9 with a surge that included three straight service aces from Madeline Mendelblatt. Indianapolis slowed down the Prairie Stars' momentum and captured the set 25-20.
UIS came out swinging in the third, opening up a 7-2 advantage behind kills from Madison Siefken, Lexie Vick, and Mazie Fleming. Several extended rallies energized the TRAC crowd, but the Greyhounds' offense steadied to erase the deficit. Indianapolis put together a late 7-1 run to pull away for a 25-19 final set.
Makenna Cox led UIS offensively with 11 kills and added 16 digs, showing her versatility on the court. Mazie Fleming contributed 6 kills while Madison Siefken added 5. Tuana Yuce and Madeline Mendelblatt recorded 3 aces apiece to keep the Prairie Stars in contention. Erica Sledge orchestrated the offense with 19 assists, and the team's defensive effort was highlighted by Cox, Yuce, and Sledge combining for 41 digs. Madeline Mendelblatt and Lexie Vick anchored the net with 3 and 2 blocks, respectively.
UIS (6-6, 0-2 GLVC) finished with 31 kills and six blocks but was held to a .103 hitting percentage. UIndy (9-5, 1-1 GLVC) countered with 37 assists, a .227 efficiency, and six blocks of its own.
