The UIS volleyball team dropped a three-set match to Nebraska-Kearney on Friday night at TRAC. The Prairie Stars fell by scores of 25-17, 25-15, 25-17, moving to 6-3 on the season.

UIS traded points with the Lopers early in the opening set, but Nebraska-Kearney's efficiency at the net proved the difference. The visitors hit .424 in the frame with just two errors, while
Kendall Johnson and
Makenna Cox combined for several early kills to keep the set tight before UNK pulled away late.
The second set featured a more balanced UIS attack, but the Lopers stretched the lead mid-set and would take the 2-0 advantage.
UIS made its strongest push in the third, tallying 15 kills on a .265 hitting percentage. Johnson and Mendelblatt provided the bulk of the offense, but the Lopers maintained their rhythm and closed out the set to secure their twelfth consecutive sweep.
Johnson led UIS with 14 kills on .321 hitting, while Madeline Mendelblatt added six kills. Cox finished with four kills and a team-best 11 digs, and Erica Sledge handed out 24 assists. Tuana Yuce also contributed nine digs.
As a team, UIS hit .216 with 34 kills compared to UNK's .398 and 46 kills. The Prairie Stars totaled three aces and 43 digs in the match.
