As part of UIS Athletics' 15 Years of NCAA Division II Membership celebration, the department is highlighting 15 standout teams and 15 standout student-athletes who have shaped the program's Division II era. Each week, UIS will feature one team and one player, honoring the accomplishments, championship moments, and legacy-building performances that have defined Prairie Stars Athletics.
In week two, UIS Athletics recognizes Erin Egolf, one of the most prolific players in Prairie Stars women's soccer history. Erin played from 2010 through 2012 and earned three All-GLVC honors (2nd team, 3rd team, 2nd team) during her career. She also became the program's first All-Region player, earning third-team recognition in 2011. Remarkably, Erin recorded two 10-goal seasons in her three seasons as a Prairie Star. She still holds the all-time records for both points and goals, as well as the single-season records for goals and points.
During her career, Erin Egolf combined on-field excellence with outstanding academics. She earned recognition on the Women's College Scholar All-Central third team and received the Division II Athletics Directors Association Academic Achievement Award. She was selected to the Academic All-GLVC team multiple times and made the UIS Chancellor's Academic Honor Roll and Dean's List every semester at UIS.
Her scoring prowess, consistency, and impact on the field set a standard for future Prairie Stars players. Erin's legacy is defined by her historic achievements on the pitch, and she later saw success as the program's head coach from 2016 to 2023
