The UIS women's basketball team returns to TRAC for a Tuesday afternoon matchup against St. Francis (IL), with tip-off set for 3:00 p.m. The game opens the first home doubleheader of the year, followed by a 5:00 p.m. men's matchup against Cedarville.

Illinois Springfield (1-3)
UIS fell 73-64 to No. 24 Ferris State on Saturday afternoon, pushing the ranked opponent by forcing turnovers and keeping the game fast-paced. The Prairie Stars came up short but remain in good form with one game left before conference play begins, having opened the season with a tough regional slate.

Through four games, graduate transfer Kennedy Osterman and junior returner Kayla Rice are both averaging 13.8 points per game, while freshman Julia Mingus is also scoring in double figures at 12.5. The trio is backed by a disruptive defensive group and a freshman class off to a strong start.

St. Francis (IL) (8-0)
The Fighting Saints, members of the NAIA's Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC), enter Tuesday unbeaten at 8-0 and 2-0 in league play. Several of their wins have come by 30 points or more, including an 82-52 victory over Viterbo on Wednesday evening.

St. Francis also boasts three double-figure scorers: Tykara Harrison (15.1), Le'lani Harris (13.6), and Coryn Fromm (10.4). Additional players to watch include Symonne Harrell, shooting 40.4% from the field with 6.7 rebounds per game, and Mia Kennelly, who is connecting on 46.2% from three-point range.
