The Illinois Springfield men's tennis team continues its fall slate this weekend with two matches in Hammond, Ind. The Prairie Stars will take on Chicago State on Friday, Oct. 10 at 2:00 p.m. CT, before facing host Purdue Northwest on Saturday, Oct. 11 at 9:00 a.m. CT.
UIS opened its 2025 fall season with a strong showing at the ITA Regional Championships in Allendale, Michigan, where the team gained valuable experience and posted several standout performances.
Kai Van-Roon captured the Flight C Singles title, defeating Wayne State's Gunnar Warren 6-2, 7-5 in the final.
Colton Pazdera also claimed a Flight D Singles consolation championship, while
Luke Pennington reached the consolation final in Flight C Singles.
In doubles play,
Antonio Ayerbe Streubel and
Lin En Tan earned the Flight B Doubles consolation title, adding to the team's success on the final day of competition.
This weekend's matches provide another opportunity for the Prairie Stars to build momentum and continue developing chemistry ahead of the spring championship season.
