The UIS Softball team fell to both Northwood and Ashland on Saturday at Trevecca Nazarene's Music City Invitational.
GAME ONE VS. NORTHWOOD (L, 1-10)

Northwood began the scoring in the 2nd inning

A triple drove in the first run of the game

With two outs Northwood was able to score two more runs on three singles in a row

Northwood added three more runs in the top of the 3rd inning

A two-RBI triple put the Timberwolves up 5-0, with the runner on third base scoring on a passed ball to make it 6-0

UIS scored their lone run from an Ella Brinkley single which scored Rosie Bartletti

Northwood was able to put together another big inning in the top of the 6th

Two separate two-RBI singles put the Timberwolves up 10-1

Alexis Carroll drops to 2-1 on the year with the loss
GAME TWO VS. ASHLAND (L, 7-8)

The Stars began the scoring in the top of the 1st off a Taylor Zawacki sac fly

Ashland responded in the bottom of the 1st with an RBI double and then a single to bring in the runner on second

UIS took the lead right back in the top of the 2nd as Adi Rumler drove in a run with a double

Ella Brinkley then singled to put the Stars up 3-2

UIS increased their lead in the top of the 3rd as Ramsey Armstrong singled in a run

Rosie Bartletti also singled in a run to put the Stars up 5-2

Ashland responded in the bottom of the 4th with 3 RBIs on two singles to tie the game at 5

UIS retook the lead in the top of the 6th behind RBIs from Taylor Zawacki and Isabella Wilson

Ashland once again found a way to even the score with runs coming across from a single and a fielder's choice

The game went into extra innings where the Eagles were able to load the bases and drive in the winning run

Taylor Zawacki drops to 1-2 on the year
UIS went 2-2 in the Music City Classic to bring their record to 5-3 on the season
