The University of Illinois Springfield baseball team was able to win another game as they overpowered Minnesota State - Mankato on the second day of the MSSU Lion Classic.
GAME SUMMARY

MSU started the scoring in the top of the 1st with a two-run double

UIS responded in the bottom of the 1st with a Brant Vanaman double and MSU walking in a run

Mark Kattula hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the second inning to take a 5-3 lead

MSU scored twice in the top of the 3rd to tie the game up

Mankato scored one run in both the 4th and 5th to go up 7-5

Kattula got his fourth RBI of the day with a sac-fly in the 6th

MSU responded with a sac-fly of their own to take an 8-6 lead in the top of the 7th

TJ Yakimisky cranked a three-run homer to give the Stars a 10-8 lead

Jacyk Uehling gave the Stars some insurance with an RBI single in the 8th

MSU hit a homerun in the top of the 9th, but it was too little too late as UIS won 11-9
The Prairie Stars will continue play at the MSSU Lion Classic with a matchup against the hosts, Missouri Southern, at 7:00 p.m. The Lions are currently ranked 14th in the country.
