The Prairie Stars tennis teams will start the spring season with a three-match roadstand. UIS will face conference foes Southwest Baptist and Drury on Friday and Saturday before meeting Newman on Sunday.
Newcomers
The tennis program welcomed five newcomers this year. The men's team addedÂ

Lin En Tan, and
Kai Van-Roon. Women's tennis welcomed the addition ofÂ
Niamh Grogan, a freshman from Dundee, Scotland.
GLVC Preseason Polls
The University of Illinois Springfield women's tennis team was tabbed third in the GLVC's East Division, receiving one first-place vote to come behind Indianapolis and Lewis.
The UIS men's tennis team was voted to finish fith in the GLVC's East Division.
In 2023
UIS women's tennis held a 4-9 record in 2023 and went 3-4 against GLVC opponents. The Prairie Stars ended their season in the first round of the GLVC Tournament, falling 4-0 to Southwest Baptist.
Men's tennis had a 3-10 (1-6 GLVC) 2023Â season. The Prairie Stars advanced to the GLVC Tournament where they fell to Southwest Baptist by a score of 4-0.

Bearcats women's tennis is off to an 0-2 start after dropping matches to Central Oklahoma and Northeastern State. They went 14-10 a season ago and defeated UIS in the GLVC Quarterfinal round. They were recently selected as the favorite in the GLVC West Division preseason poll.Â
The SBU men's tennis team is 1-2 after losses to Ouachita Baptist and Southern Arkansas, and a 5-2 win against Delta State. The Bearcats saw success in a 18-10 campaign last spring. They were selected second in the GLVC West Division preseason poll.

Drury women's tennis was the GLVC West Division's 2nd-ranked team in the league's preseason poll. Their 2-0 start in 2024 includes wins over Maryville and Emporia State.Â
Drury men's tennis, the No. 1 selection in the GLVC West Division during preseason, also started with two wins this spring.
Newman
Both Newman tennis teams are 2-1 so far this spring.
