The UIS women's basketball team will open their 2024-25 season this weekend at the GLIAC/GLVC Crossover Tournament in Hammond, Indiana, marking their first season under new head coach Olivia Lett. The Prairie Stars will face Tiffin on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. and Hillsdale on Sunday at 5:00 p.m., both offering exciting opportunities for the team to challenge regional opponents.

Illinois Springfield
The UIS women's basketball team enters the new season after finishing with a 15-14 record in 2023-24. The Prairie Stars brings a mix of experienced returners and fresh talent to the court this season. UIS claimed a 65-61 victory over Tiffin at last year's tournament, extending their all-time series lead over the Dragons to 4-1. The Prairie Stars also defeated Hillsdale 82-58 in their previous meeting, though the Chargers lead the all-time series 4-1. With a mix of experienced returners and new players, UIS is looking to start the season strong.

Tiffin
The Tiffin Dragons enter the season coming off a 4-24 record in 2023-24. Despite the challenges, Tiffin is looking to improve this year, and their matchup against UIS will be a key early test in the GLIAC/GLVC Crossover. The Prairie Stars will look to extend their all-time series advantage against Tiffin. 

Hillsdale
Hillsdale enters the weekend after finishing with a 17-12 record last season. The Chargers were one of the stronger teams in the GLIAC but fell to UIS earlier in the 2023-24 season, as the Prairie Stars secured an 82-58 victory. Hillsdale leads the all-time series 4-1, but UIS is eager to take another step forward in this competitive matchup.
