The University of Illinois Springfield volleyball team will travel to Lebanon, Illinois to compete in the 2023 McKendree Volleyball Invitational hosted on the McKendree campus at the Melvin Price Convocation Center.

At the Invitational, the Prairie Stars will meet three in-region opponents, with two being GLVC foes. The three opponents that UIS will be facing are: McKendree, Harding, and Missouri-St. Louis. The times and schedule for UIS at the tournament can be found here.

At the Denton Volleyfest last weekend, the Prairie Stars went 1-3. The lone win of the Volleyfest came against Arkansas Monticello in straight sets. Junior Eirini Glynou was named to the All-Tournament Team after recording 57 kills, 32 digs, and six blocks. The Prairie Stars' overall record is now 2-5. This Invitational is the last preseason tournament before GLVC play starts.

McKendree enters the weekend with a 5-2 record on the year. At last weekend's UIndy Invitational, the Bearcats went 4-0. Harding comes into the weekend with a 6-3 record. At last weekend's Washburn Tournament, the Bison went 1-3. Their lone win came against nationally ranked Northwest Missouri. Missouri-St. Louis enters the weekend ranked 5th in the country. The Tritons are 8-0 on the year while only dropping three total sets. 

Tickets for the Invitational are available for purchase at the gate. Weekend passes are $15, while day passes are $10. All matches will be streamed on the GLVC Sports Network at $10 per broadcast.
