The University of Illinois Springfield volleyball team competed at the Denton Volleyfest over the weekend in Denton, Texas. UIS went 1-3, dropping their final match to Central Oklahoma Saturday afternoon.
UIS vs. UCO
The Central Oklahoma Bronchos had a 4-0 weekend at the tournament. UCO took off with a 10-4 lead in their first set versus the Prairie Stars. UIS worked to get within range of the Bronchos, trailing 23-21 before UCO ended the set with two consecutive kills.
UIS got off to a 3-1 start in the next set. The Bronchos would once again lead 23-21 until consecutive kills by
Eirini Glynou tied the set 23-23. The set would be deadlocked at 24, 25, 26, and 27. A sequence of a UCO kill and a UIS attack error would give the Bronchos their second set win.
The Prairie Stars led again as the third set started but couldn't stop a 6-2 run that would put UCO ahead for good. The Bronchos finished the match with a 25-14 win.

Eirini Glynou was named to the Denton Volleyfest All-Tournament Team after putting up 57 kills, 32 digs, and six blocks over four games. She contributed 65 points as the Prairie Stars met out-of-region Division II teams.Â
